Quality Management(QM)
  Data of four quality control (QC) points—1) genomic DNA samples, 2) sequencing library, 3) sequencing raw data, and 4) final report—are collected per sample and reported to users . We run a quarter-based internal QC program for the baits, libraries, sequencers, additional machines, and individual researchers to secure quality of the overall process of next generation sequencing technology. We also undertake proficiency testing by several institutes, such as College of American Pathologists and The European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN), to evaluate not only the quality of sequencing data, but also the accuracy of variant callers. All experimental and bioinformatics processes are documented as standard operating procedures (SOP).

Technical Developments

 Multi-omics of single cell (simultaneous isolation of genomic DNA and total RNA)
SIDR is a novel single-cell method that efficiently recovers DNA and RNA allowing epigenome, genome, and transcriptome analysis in parallel to reveal complicated causal relationships.

 Unprecedented high-throughput analysis
Microfluidic techniques provide the means to analyze thousands of cells in a single experiment. In addition, a novel design for ordering of cells minimizes technical errors.

 Rare cell isolation: CTC isolation at high specificity
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are rare tumor cells in the blood circulation.
Efficient isolation of CTCs with extremely high specificity allows us to investigate genetic changes in them.

Single-cell genomics

Single-cell genomics reveals cellular heterogeneity and mosaic population structure in normal and disease conditions. In particular, critical steps in cancer, including transformation, evolution, metastasis, and treatment resistance, can be revealed by single-cell genome analysis. Using diverse commercial platforms and in-house technologies, single-cell analysis is being applied to patient samples (lung, kidney, breast, gastric, brain, and hematological cancers) and developmental model systems.
