Non-invasive Brain Stimulation Clinic

This clinic provides non-invasive brain stimulation for people with motor paralysis, cognitive disorder, aphasia, and central neuropathic pain. The brain function of patients can be improved by stimulating focal brain areas using transcranial magnetic stimulation or transcranial direct current stimulation.

Both methods are relatively safe and painless. Transcranial magnetic stimulation induces facilitating or inhibiting neural excitability of weak electric currents in the brain tissue by rapidly changing magnetic fields passing through the scalp and skull. The fluctuating energy in the magnetic field facilitates cortical excitability.

Transcranial direct current stimulation utilizes low amplitude direct currents delivered via scalp electrodes to modulate the level of brain excitability.
