Department of Dermatology
The Department of Dermatology is dedicated to treating all diseases of the skin and provides advanced dermatological treatment for Korean adults. Our staff includes 20 professors, fellows, residents and nurses who specialize in a full range of skin diseases from atopic dermatitis to psoriasis, vitiligo, contact dermatitis, allergic disease, hair disease, skin tumor, hereditary diseases, pigment anomaly, vascular disease, acne and skin aging. We also work closely with internal medicine departments by providing analysis of skin symptoms that may be the sign of any disorder related to internal organs. Our department is armed with world-class specialists in each segmented area to better cater to the needs of today’s patients and a wide array of non-invasive dermatological equipment including dermatological ultrasound, laser Doppler flowmetry, laser equipment and phototherapeutic equipment.
We also provide premier educational experience in the discipline of dermatology and actively engage in studies on dermatopathology and molecular biology to defeat incurable skin diseases. Our passion and leadership have been recognized, and in 2000 the Ministry of Health and Welfare designated the department as the Skin Diseases’ Genomic Research Center. We are also proud of accomplishing the feat of transplanting artificial skin on an incurable vitiligo case, which was created through cell culture for the first time in Korea.
