Department of Pathology aims to assist in patient treatment by producing the final pathological diagnoses through microscopic observation of the tissues and cells collected from patients. While providing data, technological support and academic knowledge required in medical researches, Department of Pathology is introducing new tests including molecular pathology test to be in line with the continuous medical advancements and is improving the quality of medical services by delivering accurate and prompt pathologic diagnosis to clinical treatments.

With opening of Samsung Cancer Center in 2008, SMC is experiencing a variety of clinical cases, therefore is continuing on progressive medical service, research and education activities.
