Department of Radiology
Department of Radiology is equipped with the clinical image storage and transmission system of the largest scale in the world. The image storage and transmission system has been modified to suit the actual conditions and are being improved in preparation for facility expansion in the future.
The entire staff (285 including Director Lee Gyeong-su of the Department of Radiology) aim for correct tests as well as rapid and accurate assessments. Through group meetings with each clinical department, they are delivering the diagnostic results promptly.
In addition, we are providing the optimal data necessary in diagnoses while minimizing the patients’ inconveniences by administering imaging guided biopsy. Also, we are actively administering interventions to effectively treat diseases in the vascular system, cranial nervous system and hepatic system.
Our service is divided into 9 special fields, such as thoracic, cardiovascular, digestive, urogenital, musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatric, breast and thyroid and intervention. Department of Radiology aims to provide image analysis and treatment by the top-level medical specialists.
For this, Department of Radiology is equipped with the latest 3 Tesla MRIs (4), 1.5 Tesla MRIs (3), Multi-detector CTs (7), digital angiographic imaging units (6), special digital angiographic imaging units (6), color doppler units (17) and digital radiography. Using these equipments, we are providing more accurate and prompt diagnostic support. With the recent opening of Samsung Cancer Center, these equipments will be distributed toe ach center in order to improve patients’ convenience
