Rated as one of the world’s top 10 multinational clinical trial organizations, SMC has gained global reputation. In particular, SMC earned AAALA accreditation for the first time in Asia. Along with its IRB, SMC is Asia’s first institute to be registered with the US Department of Health and Human Services (OHRP) for clinical trials. Furthermore, it became the first non-US organization to be certified by AAHRPP.

Samsung Medical Center consists of a main building with 20 above-ground and 5 underground floors on a site of 148,500 square meters and a cancer center with 11 above-ground and 8 underground floors. It has 1,961 beds, 40 departments and 10 specialized centers as well as 120 special clinics with 7,000 staff members including 1,268 doctors and 2,324 nurses.
