초발 급성뇌졸중 환자의 장애예방과 삶의 질 향상을 위한 전향적 추적조사 연구
뇌졸중은 약 80%에서 신경증상이 남게 되며, 40%정도에서 여생동안 장애가 남습니다. 이러한 초발 뇌졸중 환자의 장기적인 기능수준과 삶의 질에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 인자들을 파악하고 이를 개선할 수 있는 정책 개발 등을 목적으로 전국의 9개 기관을 총괄하여 10년간 시행되는 코호트 연구입니다.
파킨슨병 환자의 보행동결을 호전시킬 수 있는 뇌자극 기법 개발
보행동결 현상은 파킨슨환자에서 약물치료에 잘 반응하지 않는 난치성 증상이며, 경두개자기자극 및 경두개전기자극 등 비침습뇌자극 기법을 사용하여 이를 호전시킬 수 있는 치료적 기법을 연구합니다.
인지신경망 가소성 영상 및 증진 기법 연구
뇌졸중과 뇌손상 등 뇌질환 환자들에서 기능자기공명영상, 확산텐서영상, 뇌파도 등 기능영상을 복합적으로 사용하여 인지기능에 관련된 신경망을 영상화하고 특히 뇌질환 후 인지신경망의 회복 시 가소적인 변화 상태를 파악하며 비침습뇌자극 기법을 이용하여 인지신경망 회복을 증진시킬 수 있는 방법을 개발합니다. 작업기억력, 시공간지각기능, 언어기능 등을 대상으로 연구가 이루어집니다.
뇌졸중 후 신경회복 증진을 위한 복합 비침습뇌자극 기법 연구
신경가소성은 뇌신경 재활의 원리로서 뇌손상 환자의 성공적인 재활은 회복 과정 중 나타나는 가소적 변화의 효과적인 관리에 달려있다고 할 수 있습니다. 신경가소성의 기전을 규명함으로써 뇌손상 후 신경가소성을 극대화하고 성공적인 뇌기능 회복을 달성할 수 있는 기법을 개발하는 것을 목표로 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 이를 위해 신경영상과 비침습 뇌자극을 복합적으로 활용하고 있습니다. 신경영상은 뇌의 구조적, 기능적 특성을 가시화하는 방법으로서, 특히 기능자기공명영상, 확산텐서영상, 뇌전도, 기능근적외선 분광기 등의 기능적 신경영상을 이용하여 신경가소성에 따른 뇌의 변화를 가시화하고 뇌기능 회복의 원리를 밝힐 수 있습니다. 비침습 뇌자극은 경두개를 통해 전류를 흘려주어 뇌의 활성 변화를 유도하는 방법으로서, 반복 경두개 자기자극, 경두개 직류자극 등을 이용하여 신경가소성을 조절하여 뇌기능을 증진시킬 수 있습니다.
