SMC Stroke Center receives a top grade in acute stroke adequacy evaluation
The Stroke Center of the Heart Vascular&Stroke Institute SMC scored the top grade and received an overall score of 100 for 8 consecutive years in the acute stroke adequacy evaluation conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA).
The evaluation was conducted for inpatient treatment performed between July and December 2018, and 248 university and general hospitals were evaluated based on 24 indicators. The Stroke Center scored 100 in every evaluation sector, proving its top-level patient care in Korea with above-average scores.
For patients with acute cerebrovascular disease, the Stroke Center operates an acute stroke team, hotline, and emergency stroke–responding STAT system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, the center provides AI-based stroke image analysis, multidisciplinary treatment, comprehensive rehabilitation, and preventive care in case of complications.
The Stroke Center is expected to provide the best medical services for the treatment of acute stroke disease.
