연구분야
성인 모야모야병의 원인과 자연경과 및 치료방법에 관한 연구
일본과 한국사람에게서 빈발하는 모야모야병은 아직까지 그 원인이 밝혀져 있지 않다. 최근들어 유전적 원인에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 소아 모야모야병에 비해 성인 모야모야병 환자는 그 숫자가 더 많고 병의 발병 형태도 다양하며 예측하기 어려운 임상 경과를 보인다. 본원에는 비교적 많은 성인 모야모야병 환자가 내원하고 있어 이 병에 대한 연구를 할 충분한 여건이 조성되어 있다. 본원의 뇌혈관 연구팀과의 협력 연구를 통해 성인 모야모야병의 원인과 자연경과 및 효과적인 치료방법을 찾는 노력을 기울이고 있다.
