In the past year, Samsung Medical Center witnessed meaningful growth in a culture of giving built together by Caregivers, patients, and the community. While donations had traditionally been approached more cautiously than medical volunteer and social contribution activities, the S-With Sharing Campaign became a significant turning point.
The campaign’s “I’m Strong Bear” and “S-With Friends” merchandise redefined giving as both meaningful and enjoyable, encouraging participation from approximately 2,500 caregivers. Produced from retired uniforms and recycled plastics, the items also reflected a commitment to sustainability.
This cultural shift translated into increased participation. Notably, gratitude-driven donations from patients and families more than doubled compared to the 10-year average, accounting for 42% of total donations. This outcome demonstrates the trust earned through Caregivers’ unwavering dedication to the principle of “Patients First,” even during challenging times in healthcare.
The culture of giving at Samsung Medical Center has extended beyond borders. Through close collaboration among the Development Support Team, Legal Affairs Team, and International Relations Team, an overseas donation was successfully facilitated via a global nonprofit organization—an example of trust expanding internationally.
Samsung Medical Center will continue to nurture a culture where giving is recognized as an expression of empathy and trust, creating a lasting positive impact on society.
