Outpatient at a Glance

Step 1 Make an Appointment
When you request an appointment, let us know your needs. We'll connect you with the right care.

Step 2 Get Ready Before Your Visit
Prepare medical records from the past 3 months, such as medical reports or test result. If applicable, bring pathology slides and corresponding reports.
If you are insured by a company contracted with our hospital, request a Guarantee of Payment(GOP) in advance. -
Step 3 Visit International Healthcare Center
For your first visit, please bring photo ID for verification and patient registration.
Arrive at the International Healthcare Center 30 minutes before your appointment time. -
Step 4 Consult a Physician
At your first visit, you will meet with a primary care physician at the International Healthcare Center, who will review your medical history and overall condition.
The physician will briefly explain the expected treatment plan and, if needed, refer you to specialists for further care. -
Step 5 Check-out
After your consultation, the staff at the International Healthcare Center will arrange tests and follow-up appointments.
If admission or surgery is required, a pre-admission guidance will also be provided at the Center. -
Step 6 Payment & Medication Pick-up
Payment can be made only in Korean currency at the payment desk. Please note that all outpatient tests and treatments must be paid in advance. After payment, you will receive a ticket to collect your prescribed medication, and the International Healthcare Center staff will provide instructions on the pharmacy location.
What to Bring?
To ensure a smooth consultation, please bring the following documents and items. Preparing these in advance will help us provide faster and more accurate care.
How to Request Medical Documentation?
You may request copies of your medical records to support seamless continuity of care. We are dedicated to safeguarding your health information.
Medical Certificates
A formal documentation that includes information such as diagnosis codes, medical condition, and a summary of treatment. Initial issuance requires an outpatient visit and consultation in the relevant department.

Remarks
A medical certificate can only be requested directly from the physician at the time of an outpatient consultation. After the physician completes the document and payment is processed at the administration office, the certificate will be issued. A valid photo ID is required at the time of issuance.
Medical Record
A medical record includes the patient's health history, treatment records, surgical reports, and all procedures performed at the hospital. It is composed of physician notes and test reports.

Remarks
Required Documents for Issuance of Medical Records
- Patient: Photo ID
- Proxy: Proxy's photo ID, consent form for medical record release, and power of attorney (forms available for download below)
All medical records are issued in hard copy only, and the fee varies depending on the number of pages.
Processing time may take 30-50 minutes depending on the volume.
Copies of Medical Images
Patients may request copies of medical imaging studies (such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound) performed at the hospital. Copies are provided only in CD or DVD format.

Remarks
Copies of medical images must be collected in person at the hospital after payment.
General medical photos cannot be provided in CD or DVD format.
Specialized Outpatient Services
Our specialized outpatient services, including insurance-based health screenings and video consultations, provide international patients with borderless care.

Annual Wellness Visit
We offer a basic health screening partially covered in part by your insurance plan.
- The components of this health screening are determinded through consultation with your primary care physician and may vary based on your insurance plan.
- Please note that this health screening program is different from the comprehensive health check-up packages offered by the Health Promotion Center.
- Important
All patients receiving insurance-based health check-up must obtain a GOP from their insurance before their initial consultation.

Video Consultation
Video consultation is an online medical appointment connecting international patients with SMC doctors.
Before Your Video Consultation
- Our medical opinion is based on the quality of the medical records you provide. If the records are insufficient, we may request additional documents or may not be able to provide adequate recommendations.
- According to Korean medical law, a local physician must be present with the patient during the video consultation.
