What are the opening hours of the International Healthcare Center?

We are open on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

What should I do if I need medical interpretation?

If you require medical interpretation, please request the service at the time of your appointment booking.

Same-day interpretation requests cannot be guaranteed.

 

If you wish to cancel your reserved interpretation service, please contact the International Healthcare Center at least one day in advance to avoid a no-show fee. 

How can I request a medical certificate or doctor’s note?

If you need a medical certificate or doctor’s statement, you must request it directly from your physician during your consultation. These documents must be written by the attending doctor, so please schedule an appointment if necessary.

How can I obtain my test results?

Test results can be issued through the official medical records request process. Please make your request through the International Healthcare Center during your visit. (How to Request Medical Documentation?)

Can I use the International Healthcare Center (IHC) as a Korean National Health Insurance (NHI) subscriber?

When using the International Healthcare Center, National Health Insurance benefits are not applicable, and international rates will be charged. 

 

According to the National Health Insurance Act in Korea, subscribers are required to use NHI as their primary coverage. However, they may choose not to apply NHI if they clearly express their intention to do so. 

 

Therefore, subscribers who wish to use IHC must complete and submit  [Request to not use Korean National Health Insurance] at each visit. 

 

However, according to our internal policy, once you choose to use international rates, you cannot use NHI concurrently.(Applicable within SMC only)

I’m wondering if my condition can be treated at Samsung Medical Center. What should I do?

You can contact our International Healthcare Center through this website. Please click on Request an Appointment and provide the patient’s basic information along with a brief description of the diagnosis and symptoms.

 

Based on the information you submit, we will inform you whether treatment is available and help schedule an appropriate appointment. 

 

To ensure smooth and safe medical care, please keep the following guidelines in mind

  • If the patient is under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them to the appointment.
  • Audio recording and video filming during the consultation are not permitted.

Is blood testing available on weekends?

Yes, blood tests are available at the laboratory on the 1st floor of the Annex Building.

 

· Weekdays 6:30 AM ~ 8:00 PM

· Saturdays 6:30 AM ~ 5:00 PM

· Sundays & Public holidays 8:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM

 

Blood tests cannot be done outside of these hours.

Do Korean National Health Insurance (NHI) subscribers need a referral for their first visit?

Samsung Medical Center is a tertiary hospital that requires a referral from a primary care provider or health screening results for NHI coverage on first visits.

I would like to get a health check-up. What is the procedure?

For self-pay health check-ups, please visit the Health Promotion Center website and click Make an Appointment.

If you are using private insurance, please click Request an Appointment to consult with a primary care physician first. After the consultation, appropriate tests will be prescribed and scheduled accordingly.

Please note that the types of tests covered by insurance may vary depending on your insurance plan and age.

Is there a free shuttle bus service?

Yes, our shuttle bus runs between the hospital(Main Building and Cancer Center) and nearby stations such as Suseo Rapid Train Station(SRT), Suseo Subway Station(Line 3), and Irwon Station.

 

  • Weekdays 7:30 AM ~ 6:00 PM (every 8 minutes)
  • Saturdays 7:30 AM ~ 12:30 PM (every 15 minutes)
  • No service on Sundays and public holidays

 

In addition to hospital’s internal shuttle bus, there is a shuttle that operates between Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek and the hospital.

 

Weekdays

  • From Camp Humphreys  8:00 AM from outside the Anjeongri Main gate
  • To Camp Humphreys 1:30 PM from SMC Gate 1
  • The service operates Monday through Friday only. It does not run on Sundays or public holidays.
