When using the International Healthcare Center, National Health Insurance benefits are not applicable, and international rates will be charged.
According to the National Health Insurance Act in Korea, subscribers are required to use NHI as their primary coverage. However, they may choose not to apply NHI if they clearly express their intention to do so.
Therefore, subscribers who wish to use IHC must complete and submit [Request to not use Korean National Health Insurance] at each visit.
However, according to our internal policy, once you choose to use international rates, you cannot use NHI concurrently.(Applicable within SMC only)
Samsung Medical Center is a tertiary hospital that requires a referral from a primary care provider or health screening results for NHI coverage on first visits.
Please contact the insurance call center or email listed on your insurance card and request them to send the GOP to ihs.smc@samsung.com.
If you register for the OPEN CARD service, you can have your examination without making an advance payment.

Register your credit card and you may leave the hospital without payment. The transaction will proceed on the same day or next business day.

We only accept Korean won (KRW) for payments. The nearest banks for currency change are located on B1F of the Main building and the Cancer center (Weekdays only, 9AM~4PM).
Room assignment is determined on the day of admission based on availability and discharge status, so advance reservation is not possible.
The scheduled admission date is not a guaranteed admission date, so it may be delayed beyond the scheduled date. (In unavoidable circumstances, your surgery or procedure may also be rescheduled.)
Room assignment is completed in the morning, and check-in details will be provided between 11AM and 1PM. The standard admission time is after 1PM.
The standard discharge time is between 10AM and 11AM. ( It may be vary depending on the treatment situations.)
