Ambulatory Treatment Center

Integrated Outpatient Cancer Care

The Ambulatory Treatment Center at Samsung Medical Center provides a wide range of outpatient services for cancer patients, including chemotherapy infusions, blood transfusions, fluid therapy, minor procedures, and wound care. Conveniently located next to the Hematology-Oncology outpatient clinic, the center enables patients to receive treatment immediately after their clinic visit-allowing most patients to return home the same day.

Expert Cancer Care in Specialized Areas

To ensure high-quality, specialized care, the center operates dedicated zones for chemotherapy and general treatments. Chemotherapy is administered in a designated infusion room, with treatment durations varying according to the prescribed drug protocol. Both same-day and scheduled appointments are available following outpatient consultation.

The general treatment area provides other intravenous medications, blood transfusions, dressing changes, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, ascitic or pleural fluid drainage, lumbar punctures, and drainage bag replacement. These procedures are typically performed on the same day as the patient's visit.

The center is staffed by oncology-certified nurses and stem cell transplant nurse specialists, who deliver safe, systematic care in close collaboration with the Department of Hematology and Oncology.

Stem Cell Transplantation Clinic

The Stem Cell Transplantation Clinic, located within the center, offers follow-up care, education, and symptom management for patients discharged after undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The clinic team monitors for potential complications and side effects, while providing individualized guidance on nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and self-care to support long-term recovery after transplant.
