Liver Cancer Center
Patient-Centered and Tailored Liver Cancer Treatment
We provide personalized liver cancer treatment through patient-centered multidisciplinary care. For patients with advanced or complex liver cancer, we have established a face-to-face multidisciplinary consultation system, in which specialists from all relevant departments come together to discuss and determine the most appropriate treatment plan. This system enables patients to finalize a treatment strategy with minimal outpatient visits. By facilitating timely diagnostics and therapeutic decisions, our multidisciplinary approach significantly reduces waiting times and helps relieve the psychological stress often associated with delays in cancer treatment.
Optimal Treatment Starts with Accurate Diagnosis
Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment. We use advanced diagnostics such as blood-based tumor markers, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and biopsy to determine the presence of liver cancer and its extent. Based on the results, we provide precise, minimally invasive therapies tailored to each patient. Treatment options include laparoscopic and robotic surgery, localized interventions, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and proton therapy.
Our center is also a pioneer in complex procedures such as ABO-incompatible liver transplantation and advanced combination therapies for progressive liver cancer, aiming to improve both survival rates and quality of life.

Research-Driven Cancer Care
Advances in molecular biology have enabled the development of targeted therapies that selectively block cancer-related pathways, offering powerful treatment options with significantly reduced side effects compared to traditional chemotherapy. At Samsung Lung and Esophageal Cancer Center, we conduct genomic profiling and research to determine the most effecitve "personlized" treatment strategies for each patient. This precision medicine approach also extends to precision surgery, where detailed imaging and molecular data guide surgical decision-making to achieve optimal outcomes with minimal invasiveness. In addition, we are conducting clinical trials on immune checkpoint inhibitors, a form of immunotherapy that has shown promising results in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), to explore new therapeutic approaches. Through continued research into novel therapies, we strive to offer early access to the most advanced treatment options available.
