Endocrine Surgery
Achieving Enhanced Patient Experience Through Multidisciplinary Care
The Department of Endocrine Surgery, a subspecialty of General Surgery, focuses on conventional open and minimally invasive endoscopic or robotic surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. Multidisciplinary collaboration with internal medicine (endocrinology), radiology, pathology, nuclear medicine is coordinated within the Thyroid Center to enable early diagnosis and effective treatment, improving outcomes in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgeries.
We strive to enhance patient experience and treatment outcomes through bi-weekly multidisciplinary conferences and CP-based (Critical Pathway) systematic patient management.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
To meet patients' needs for both oncologic and cosmetic outcomes, we offer state-of-the-art minimally invasive endocrine surgery based on years of experience.
Specialized Expertise
Robotic Thyroidectomy/Parathyroidectomy
We offer a variety of robotic thyroidectomy techniques, including Bilateral Axillo-Breast Approach(BABA) and the Gas-Insufflation One-Step Single-Port transaxillary (GOSTA) approach.
Endoscopic Thyroidectomy/Parathyroidectomy
For patients concerned about the cost of robotic surgery, we provide endoscopic surgery as an effective alternative.
Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy
Instead of the large incisions required in conventional adrenalectomy, we perform a three-port laparoscopic approach to minimize scarring and promote faster recovery.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork
Through our bi-weekly multidisciplinary conferences, we review and discuss complex cases referred from across the country to ensure optimal patient-centered care within our center.
