Neonatology
World-Class Care for Premature and High-Risk Newborns
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides expert care for premature and high-risk newborns. With one of the world's highest survival rates and outcomes for extremely premature infants, we deliver care grounded in advanced medical expertise and state-of-the-art facilities. As a national referral center for congenital anomalies requiring surgery, our NICU delivers high-standard, comprehensive care.
Through collaboration among neonatology, pediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, radiology, and rehabilitation, we ensure highly specialized, up-to-date care for our most vulnerable patients.
Multidisciplinary Excellence
Our NICU provides the highest level of multidisciplinary care. Our team of neonatologists works in close collaboration with specialists in pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, radiology, and rehabilitation medicine.
This integrated, team-based approach allows us to provide precise and timely care tailored to the unique needs of each infant-especially those requiring complex surgical and medical management. Our coordinated efforts result in best-in-class outcomes and improved long-term prognoses.
Specialized Expertise
Extremely Premature Infants
Our NICU is internationally recognized for excellence in caring for extremely premature infants. We provide tailored treatment with specialized respiratory support nutritional care, and developmental monitoring to support survival and long-term health.
High-Risk Newborns Requiring Surgery
We provide comprehensive care for high-risk newborns with complex congenital anomalies, working closely with pediatric surgical teams to ensure timely intervention and optimal outcomes.
Stem Cell Therapy for Neonatal Diseases
We are leading the world's first clinical research using cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells to treat chronic lung disease and intraventricular hemorrhage in extremely premature infants-demonstrating our commitment to innovation.
Leading Discoveries in Neonatal Research
We are at the forefront of neonatal research, particularly in the field of stem cell therapy. Our team is conducting the world's first clinical research on the use of cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells for treating chronic lung disease and intraventricular hemorrhage in extremely premature infants. This groundbreaking study represents the first-ever clinical trial of its kind in this high-risk population.
In addition, our center played a key role in founding the Korean Neonatal Network (KNN), a national clinical trial registry and database for very low birth weight infants. Through these efforts, we are advancing large-scale, evidence-based neonatal research and raising the standard of care across Korea.
