Neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular Clinic
We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of a wide range of neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis, optica spectrum disorder, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease, myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, as well as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and rare myopathies. We employ advanced diagnostic tools, including MRI, electrodiagnostic tests (NCS and EMG), and blood and cerebrospinal fluid analysis?incorporating disease-specific antibody testing?to achieve precise diagnoses. Stroke Center
SMC’s Stroke Center operates a 24/7 Samsung Thrombolysis code in Acute ischemic stroke Treatment (STAT) system for acute stroke care, led by specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, radiology, rehabilitation, and nursing. We perform more than 50 thrombolysis procedures annually, achieving excellent outcomes. The center publishes research in over 20 respected journals each year, contributing to advancements in stroke care standards.
Epilepsy Clinic
Our Epilepsy Clinic is renowned for its outstanding surgical outcomes, performing over 80 epilepsy surgeries annually, with success rates of up to 80%. Our epilepsy surgery program encompasses SEEG-guided resection, deep brain stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation. Equipped with five video-EEG units, the clinic offers precise localization of seizure focus using advanced imaging and EEG tools. A multidisciplinary team also leads a lot of clinical trials & neurocognitive researches with the relevant specialists each year.
Sleep Clinic
SMC’s Sleep Clinic manages a wide range of sleep disorders with six polysomnography labs and a dedicated team of sleep specialists. We conduct over 1,400 sleep studies annually. Conditions such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and circadian rhythm disorders are treated with CPAP, medications, biofeedback, and cognitive behavioral therapy for optimal outcomes.
Cognitive Neurology and Dementia Clinic
Staffed by neurologists, psychologists, and speech-language therapists, our clinic address a broad spectrum of cognitive disorders?from mild memory or language issues to Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and other dementias. Initial evaluations include a detailed review of the patient’s medical history and a neurological examination by a cognitive neurology specialist. Most patients subsequently undergo comprehensive cognitive assessments, laboratory tests, and neuroimaging studies. The results are thoroughly reviewed, and an individualized, systematic treatment plan is then developed and implemented.
[Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Clinic (PDMDC)
Our clinic manages a variety of hypokinetic and hyperkinetic movement disorders, including Parkinsonism. PDMDC features extensive diagnostic facilities, including tremor analysis, surface electromyography, gait and balance analysis, and various imaging labs. We offer dedicated programs such as Botulinum Toxin Injection Clinic and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Clinic. SMC's PDMDC has been designated a Center of Excellence for DBS treatment in movement disorders by two major international companies (Medtronic and Boston Scientific). In addition, the clinic collaborates in multidisciplinary teams for other surgical treatment such as MR-guided focused ultrasound surgery or gamma knife surgery, as well as non-invasive brain stimulation, to manage complex movement disorders.
