If the pulmonary arteries are of adequate size, a complete surgical repair can be performed. The timing of surgery varies depending on each patient. In cases with small branch pulmonary arteries, an initial shunt surgery may be performed. In some cases, catheter interventions such as right ventricular outflow tract stenting or patent ductus arteriosus stenting may be considered as a temporary way to increase pulmonary blood flow before complete repair.
