Center for Children and Adolescents: Excellence in Quality, Safety and Advanced Pediatric Care

The Center for Children and Adolescents at Samsung Medical Center is Korea's leading institution dedicated exclusively to the health and well-being of children and adolescents. Our multidisciplinary team, including pediatric specialists, nurses, and healthcare professionals, collaborates to deliver the highest standards of quality, safety and advanced medical care for young patients.

We provide a full spectrum of healthcare services for children from birth to age 18. With 46 expert physicians and surgeons across more than 15 pediatric subspecialties, the center offers comprehensive, holistic care comparable to leading children's hospital worldwide. Our 52 specialized clinics address every aspect of a child's physical, developmental, and emotional health through a coordinated, team-based approach.

Specialized Expertise

Clinical and Research Excellence

SMC's Center for Children and Adolescents is nationally and internationally recognized for its pioneering contributions to pediatric medicine and research.

Largest Pediatric Research Programs

We operate one of the largest pediatric research programs in Korea. To date, our researchers have led thousands of clinical and laboratory studies to develop innovative therapies for complex childhood diseases. A landmark achievement includes the successful development of “Hunterase,” a novel treatment for mucopolysaccharidosis, demonstrating our strength in translational medicine-from bench to bedside.

Holistic Support Beyond Medicine

To ensure continued education during treatment, we operate a hospital-based school that allows children to keep up with their studies and transition smoothly back to school life after recovery. Children whose schools do not require official attendance records may freely participate in hospital classes. Families requiring formal documentation should consult with our hospital education coordinator prior to enrollment.
