To minimize biliary complications following living donor liver transplantations, we have adopted advanced techniques in biliary anastomosis, significantly reducing complication rates. We are also actively engaged in ABO-incompatible transplantations, achieving a 100% success rate to date. In 2013, we performed Korea’s first kidney transplantation without the need for immunosuppressors by inducing immunologic tolerance?markedly improving patients' quality of life.
Our expertise extends globally, assisting other centers in developing and performing transplant programs. We have conducted liver transplants at Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Egypt and Hanoi National Children's Hospital, Vietnam and helped these centers start a liver transplant program. Faculty members from Egypt, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, China, Mongolia, Mexico, Singapore and the United States have visited our center for training and program development.
