A team of experts

The Thyroid Center brings together specialists in endocrinology, endocrine surgery, head and neck surgery (otorhinolaryngology), radiology, pathology, nuclear medicine, and radiation oncology. Each year, our staff collaborates on more than 2,000 thyroid surgeries, over 50,000 outpatient visits, and approximately 23,000 ultrasound examinations.

Advanced Treatment for Complex Thyroid Diseases

We operate a collaborative care system known as the Thyroid Cancer Clinic, which offers a one-stop service enabling patients to complete all the necessary evaluations in a single day. This clinic, held every other Monday, includes specialists in endocrinology, endocrine surgery and head & neck surgery of otorhinolaryngology. Patients referred to the clinic may schedule appointments through the Samsung Referral Center. Through this streamlined system, patients can undergo ultrasound-assisted fine needle aspiration cytology, a thyroid scan, and a blood test-all on the same day.

We routinely perform oncogene analysis, including BRAF and RET mutation testing, to improve the diagnostic accuracy and thyroid cancer. Our dedicated coordination nurses provide telephone and in-person support for patients with questions regarding diagnosis, treatment procedures, surgery, and radioactive iodine treatment.

We hold regular multidisciplinary meetings to discuss complex cases and determine the most effective care strategies. Since 2011, we have offered surgeries on Saturdays as well as weekdays to reduce patient wait times. Recent clinical research
