from Samsung Proton Therapy Center.

Since October of 2011, we have strived to establish the Proton Treatment Center at the Samsung Medical Center for 4 years and 6 months and now, we have initiated the proton treatment. Samsung Medical Center has been a leader of the Korean medical industry from the beginning and now we can provide you with high quality radiotherapy. We would like to change and innovate one more step with you through the launching of the Proton Treatment Center. We are taking a new step at this moment, and I would like to introduce our initiatives.

We are committed to establishing the Proton Treatment Center which can provide you high quality and safe treatments.

The Proton Center at the Samsung Medical Center has equipped medical devices which can ensure accuracy to achieve high quality proton treatment. To provide precise treatments, Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT) with the ability of proton beam line scanning has been enabled. Also, cutting edge image guided devices including Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT) has been equipped. We will do our best to maintain our equipment and assure quality throughout the entire proton treatment process by maximizing our proton treatment equipment to achieve safe treatment.

We will continuously establish a scientific foundation to become the world class proton treatment center.

Proton treatment is actively utilized not only domestically but throughout the world as the next generation’s radiotherapy. We will become the world class proton treatment center which can lead the future of proton treatment through establishing a scientific foundation with implementation of proactive/innovative clinical trials and basic studies pertaining to radiation physics and radiobiology with our excellent medical team.

 Meeting cancer patients with agony and pain can be difficult. Even though cancer is treated with cutting edge equipment, the agony and pain can be escalated rather than improving them if the treatment only focuses on cancer cells. The Proton Treatment Center at the Samsung Medical Center hopes the proton treatment can be utilized not only to remove cancer tissues, but to reduce the pain patients and the family members experience. We are committed to not only treating cancer tissues but also establishing close relationships between patients and family members through planning every treatment in the perspective of the patients and their family members and maximizing daily performance of patients. Every employee of the Proton Treatment Center at the Samsung Medical Center will come together to communicate and care our patients and their family members. We will nurture your mind during the treatment and take care of you in order to help you return to your normal lifestyle after the treatment.
