    If endoscope resection and operation is difficult to perform in the early stage esophagus cancer patients due to age and physical strength associated diseases, proton treatment can be applied in such cases.
    Similarly, if operation is difficult to perform on advanced esophagus cancer patients due to age and physical strength associated diseases, proton treatment can be applied.

  • Patients who must receive radiotherapy before operation

    There are cases where the radiotherapy must be performed prior to operation. In such cases, the proton treatment can be applied if there are concerns associated with a large treatment site and heart and lung toxicity.

  • When treating esophagus cancer through radiotherapy, there are concerns pertaining to heart side effects. Proton treatment has an advantage of reducing the amount of radiation exposure to the heart to minimize the risk of side effects in the heart.
