Samsung Medical Center provides disease prevention health kits to persons with disabilities in local community
Since February, Samsung Medical Center has been disseminating COVID-19 prevention kits to help the local community. In commemoration of this year’s International Day of People with Disabilities, the center provided health kits that boost the immune system of persons with disabilities (PWDs) who are vulnerable to infectious diseases.
At the Group Home Support Center in Seoul, 31 sets of immunity improvement items, such as vitamins, yogurt drinks, pain-relief patches, etc., were given to 113 PWDs. Meanwhile, 300 sets of infection prevention kits containing masks, hand disinfectants, hand sanitizers, etc. were delivered to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities.
The provision of health kits was made possible with the support of Shinhan Bank, whose personnel from its Samsung Medical Center branch facilitated the meaningful delivery ceremony.
Although Samsung Medical Center was unable to directly provide COVID-19–related services, the center is continuously conducting activities for the vulnerable members of the community and for the prevention of local transmission.
