Faculty Members at Samsung Medical Center Introduce Korean Medicine at International Academic Seminars
As the world's attention is focused on Korea's K-Quarantine and high medical standards since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, faculty members at Samsung Medical Center have been invited to several virtual international academic seminars and was given the opportunity to present Korea's outstanding medical technology.
Firstly, Professor Cha, Won Chul from the Department of Emergency Medicine presented the topic of 'Digital Innovation Strategies for Prevention of COVID-19 in Hospitals' at the Health and Medical Cooperation Conference hosted by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), which won widespread acclaim.
Professor Kim, Jong Man from the Division of Transplantation Surgery and Professor Lee, Ji Won from the Department of Pediatrics were invited to the 'St. Petersburg International Oncology Forum', one of the largest seminars on oncology in Russia and CIS which is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology. Their presentations included 'The Latest Techniques for Liver Cancer and Liver Transplantation' and 'The Latest Knowledge on Solid Tumors in Children'.
Professor Jeong, Dong Seop from the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery will be a speaker at the 'Korea-Middle East Specialized Medical Education Seminar' and will do a virtual presentation about '10 Years of Experience and Achievements in Hybrid Ablation Procedures'.
According to Professor Lee, Jae Jun from the Department of Rheumatology and Chair of International Healthcare Center, although conducting offline seminars are difficult due to COVID-19, virtual seminars on various topics where international information can be easily shared are increasing and becoming more popular than prior to the pandemic. Furthermore, Prof. Lee has stated that this is also a good opportunity to promote the excellence of Samsung Medical Center and Korean medical care.
