Achieved 500 Procedures for Ventricular Arrhythmia

Ventricular arrhythmias are known to be difficult to treat and also as a major cause of sudden cardiac death due to the complex and dangerous ventricular structure.

The Ventricular Arrhythmia Clinic of Samsung Medical Center announced that it has achieved 500 procedures for ventricular arrhythmia cases with high-frequency electrode catheter ablation. It has been seven years since the first Ventricular Arrhythmia Clinic in Korea was opened in May 2015.

The Ventricular Arrhythmia Clinic has performed more than 100 procedures in the past two years and is one of the most active treatment centers in Korea. Professor Park, Kyoung Min, Director of Ventricular Arrhythmia Clinic, studied under Dr. Marchlinski of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Program Team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, which is rated as the world's best ventricular arrhythmia treatment center for two years from 2010.

Professor Park, Kyoung Min stated, "Many patients are suffering from ventricular arrhythmias, but it is unfortunate that ventricular arrhythmias are not being actively treated in Korea." He continued, "In the future, I would like to provide practical help to many patients suffering from ventricular arrhythmias by not only advancing treatment technology for ventricular arrhythmias caused by various heart diseases, but also by promoting and educating about ventricular arrhythmias."
