  • Following its foundation on November 9, 1994, SMC signed a partnership agreement with Johns Hopkins University and its Hospital located in Baltimore, Maryland, US.
  • The two medical centers implemented Telemedicine on September 15, 1995 (world's second international telemedical care system).
  • The US News &World Report has cited this medical school as America's best medical school for 15 consecutive years.
Cedars Sinai Medical Center, US
  • On July 15, 2002, SMC signed a partnership agreement for telemedicine and academic exchange with Cedars Sinai Medical Center, US.
  • The two medical centers agreed to collaborate on remote medical care, academic exchange, and medical training through telemedicine partnership.
  • Located in Beverly Hills, LA, Cedars Sinai Medical Center is renowned for the management and treatment of vascular and neurological diseases and cancer and is one of UCLA's training hospitals.
MIK Hospital, Argentina
  • On November 14, 2002, SMC signed a partnership agreement with Medicina Integral Koreana, a hospital serving the Korean population in the country.
  • MIK Hospital was the first hospital for Koreans established in December 1985 considering the growing Korean population and their need for medical care.
MD Anderson Cancer Center, US
  • On November 27, 2002, SMC signed a partnership agreement with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
  • The two medical centers agreed to collaborate on providing medical care, training and telemedicine, clinical services, and research.
  • MD Anderson Cancer Center is ranked no. 1 in the cancer treatment sector by the US News & World Report.
Nantong Rich Hospital, China
  • SMC signed a partnership agreement with this hospital in Nantong, China on January 20, 2003.
  • The two medical centers agreed to have close partnership in technical and resource exchanges and development of the Chinese market.
  • Rich Hospital was established in the economic technology development district in Nantong, Jiansu Province, China as a 500-bed western medical center with 25 departments.
  • The hospital has been recognized for its specialized centers for the cardiology, tumor, and microsurgical departments, PACS and medi-vac helipad, and comfortable facilities offering the best-in-class services.
Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Egypt
  • SMC signed a partnership agreement with this hospital on September 20, 2003.
  • The two medical centers agreed to exchange technologies and resources, and SMC would provide resources and information on organ transplant.
  • Located in Giza near Cairo and whose name means "the place where the heart is" in Arabic, the 120-bed Dar Al Fouad Hospital specializes in cardiology. It is especially well known as the hospital where Egypt's first heart transplant surgery was performed (by SMC's transplant center team at the hospital's urgent request

  • SMC signed a partnership agreement with Kyushu University Hospital on March 8, 2004 in Japan.
  • The two hospitals agreed to collaborate on medical care for patients, joint treatment, technical exchange, and clinical research.
  • Kyushu University Hospital is a 1,300-bed general hospital that has been delivering health care services since its foundation in 1867.

  • Located in Hanoi, Vietnam, this 500-bed hospital is known as Vietnam's best children's hospital and was even recognized by the government of Vietnam as the country's best children's hospital in 2002.
  • The cardiovascular center of SMC has performed surgeries on local children with congenital heart disease and provided medical equipment and technical assistance.
  • Staff members of Hanoi National Children's Hospital regularly visit SMC for training on congenital heart disease surgery.
