The Departments of Dentistry of the Samsung Medical Center provides diagnosis and treatment for a variety of oral cavitydiseases in teeth, gum, jaw and face, including malocclusion. We provide comprehensive dental care by highly qualified professionals with state-of-the-art medical equipment and train excellent medical professionals. We also actively perform academic activities to further our community's dental health and become a world-famous dental Departments.

OurDepartmentscomprises six different departments, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics, Department of Conservative Dentistry, Department of Prosthodontics, and Department of Periodontology, plus a scaling center to provide patients with specialists for each oral cavitydiseases. To satisfy patients with our quality service, we have in place special clinics such as adental implant center, clinic for the prevention of dental caries, maxillofacial orthognathic clinic, esthetic clinic, clinic for disabled children, and pediatric orthodontic clinic. When complex care is required, we receive cooperation from other departments to ensure that we provide patient-centered comprehensive care.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery diagnoses and treats diseases, trauma and deformities in the oral cavity, jaw and face and specializes in surgery and inpatient care. The Department of Pediatric Dentistry cares for from infant to adolescent patients with needs for dental treatment. In addition to general areas of dentistry and specialized areas of pediatric orthodontics, our scope includes special areas such as hospital dentistry, dentistry for the disabled, and congenital and genetic oral cavity diseases.Since growth and development occur in children and youths, unlike adults, our pediatric dentists with in-depth knowledge in such phenomena provide the most appropriate care for the individual development stages of child patients.
The Department of Orthodontics corrects patients' teeth alignment and restores a balanced look on their faces. Our line of work includes the correction of children's jaws, surgical correction, treatment and correction of congenital abnormalities such as cleft lip and cleft palate, and correction of bimaxillary prognathism through orthodontic mini-implantation, and transparent correction, and we boast of the fact that we are at the global level in these areas.
The Department of Conservative Dentistry welcomes patients with cavities or those who wish to prevent them, with teeth pain, inflammation at the root of teeth, traumatized teeth, space between teeth, cervical abrasion, discolored teeth, and deformed teeth.
In the Department of Prosthodontics, patients with discolored or worn teeth or slightly misarranged teeth can benefit from dental prosthetic treatment and retain their beauty as well as ease of chewing and pronouncing words. We also reconstruct the oral and maxillofacial parts suffering from damage and loss caused by a tumor or injury usingprosthetic appliances.
The Department of Periodontology deals with early gum diseases using scaling (dental tartar removal) and root planing. We also perform oral surgery such as such asgum surgery and gum plastic surgeryto remove inflammation and recover healthy periodontal tissues, alveolar bone augmentation surgery to reconstruct lost alveolar bone, and dental implant surgery to restore missing teeth by implanting artificial teeth to the alveolar bone.And we perform regular check-ups to ensure that our patients have good results and maintain good oral health.
